Composition with Red, Blue and Yellow, 1930

The title of this work refers to the Piet Mondrian painting of the same title and year.

Composed using a complex system of mathematics to translate Mondrian’s visual image into pitch and durational material, this work features long-held pitches and a palindromic form, building slowly, climaxing, and fading away.
