Five Women

A setting of a-, by E. E. Cummings’, and a continuation of the __ Women series of works (see: Two Women, Three Women, and Four Women).

The work resembles 2008’s Melodies in that there are five solo lines which are performed unsynchronized by five different women. The difference, however, is that where in Melodies, any number of performers could choose which lines to play (in fact, all could choose the same line), the five melodic lines of Five Women must all be performed by one woman on each part.
